Spencer Wynn
Photographer, visual journalist
Spencer Wynn is a Canadian photographer, former visual journalist, and photography professor. During a career spanning several decades, he worked as a visual journalist at Canada's largest newspaper before teaching photography at Humber College and leading photographic workshops in Canada and internationally.
In recent years, his work has become increasingly focused on long-term documentary and fine art projects that examine the relationship between people, landscape, and human settlement.
His work in the Canadian Arctic, Greenland, China, India, and southeastern Türkiye is united by a longstanding interest in the ways people shape the land they inhabit — and how those landscapes, in turn, reveal the passage of time through cultivation, settlement, and repeated use.
