Spencer Wynn is a Canadian photographer, former visual journalist, and photography professor. During a career spanning several decades, he worked as a visual journalist at Canada's largest newspaper before teaching photography at Humber College and leading photographic workshops in Canada and internationally.

His work encompasses documentary photography and long-term photographic projects examining people, communities and the landscapes in which they live. His approach draws on a background in visual journalism, combining careful observation, research and an interest in the circumstances that shape everyday life.

His photography has taken him to the Canadian Arctic, Greenland, China, India and southeastern Türkiye. Across these regions, his work has explored the relationships between people and place, from remote communities and working landscapes to agriculture, settlement and environmental change.

In The Breath of First Fields, he brings this documentary experience to an ongoing exploration of southeastern Türkiye, photographing contemporary agricultural life, water systems, landscapes and the people whose work and knowledge contribute to the region's future.
